have been very busy and didn't have time to update my blog recently
and as you all know
I don't usually like to bore you with my life and all that supercalifragilisticexpialidocious
so let's just jump into to the subject! haha!

了解我的人大概都知道
分享自己那些"無耶某耶"的近況不是我的長處
也怕讓大家覺得無聊
所以讓我們直接進入主題吧! 呵呵
This is the new dress I made which included two patterns
one is the vintage simplicity pattern 4039 (R)
and the other one is a re-made vintage Vogue V8789 (L)
這次製作的洋裝總共使用了兩個版型
一個是Vogue 的 V8789 (左)
另一個是古董版型 Simplicity 4039 (右)
I picked up the colorful straight arrow fabric for the dress
because I wanna try the chevron print dress as the vintage pattern recommended
因為這次想要嘗試斜紋設計的洋裝
所以這次用的面料上 有許多可愛的直線彩色箭頭

The vintage pattern is a one piece dress style
the pic N.O 1 has two cute big pockets on both sides
and that's the one I picked for this project
古董版型是一件式的洋裝
並有兩個大大的口袋設計在裙子兩邊
( 這種大口袋的洋裝設計在美國 1940's~50's 時期很常見 )
this pattern also reminds me a lot of Ethel's dress on the I Love Lucy Show
I love Lucy is my favorite TV show
and who doesn't love all of Lucy and Ethel's dresses on the show?!
會想要做這件洋裝版型
是因為它讓我想到了 I love Lucy 裡的 Ethel 的洋裝
I love Lucy 是我最喜歡的 TV show
而 Ethel 在裡面穿的洋裝 常以大口袋設計出現
所以我一直很想要做一件這樣的1950 年代的主婦大口袋洋裝
因為大口袋設計真的好可愛喔!
since the fabric I used this time is only 45" wide
it was difficult for me to match the one piece dress grain line
so I devided this pattern into two parts and only used the bottom (skirt) part
因為這次使用的布料只有45吋寬
所以沒有辦法配合洋裝上裁線的樣子裁製
所以我將洋裝用複製紙複製過後
再將之分成兩份 而只用裙子的部分
I used the Vogue V8789 - Pattern A for the top
from my past pattern experience
I am really not a fan of using re-made vintage dress/skirt patterns
because the shape of re-made patterns don't usually turn out to look the same as a real "vintage dress/skirt"
that's another reason I was only using the top pattern from the Vogue V8789

I transferred the pattern onto the transfer paper
and cut the fabric off just as I did with the skirt part

The first difficult part to me of making this dress
was "how to follow the grain line and cut the fabric off"
the chevron grain line was very confusing to me
so I even went on Crafty.com and took a "match pattern" class before I cut the fabric
我想這件洋裝最難的部分
就是裁布的部分
因為這是我第一次嘗試斜紋洋裝
所以在裁布之前
我還特地上網上買了"如何連結布料紋路"的課程
after carefully cutting off all the fabric
I ironed the interfacing on the collar before I sewed the front part
小心的裁下所有的布料後
我將可燙式的蕊貼在洋裝的領子上
讓上身可以看起來挺一些

the top of this dress is actually a little bit big on me
apart from that
I think the two patterns match pretty well
and I love this dress!

I wasn't 100% satisfied with matching chevron print this time
hope I will do better next time

所以我也加了可移動式的兩條綁帶在肩膀上
讓不綁的時候 也可以有另一種look

I'm gonna say
I am really not some kind of " fashion blogger "
after I set up my camera to count down 10 seconds for the photo shot
I was ready to hurry back in to my warm house ~ haha!
太犧牲了! 雖然部落格沒有很多閱覽率
但也真的沒必要那麼拼命
在雪地中自己架設好10秒自拍後 快速地"切"了幾張
我就趕快手刀衝回屋子裡面 哈哈!

I had mentioned my school art teacher from my last blog
and I was glad I finally had chance to get in touch with him again after so many years!
for that
I really need to thank my dear sis and her classmates
they are really big helpers! and because of them
I finally had chance to say "Thank you" to my art teacher
